Chapter 10

Brady has a lot of emotions running through him right now.  At the end of the chapter he says "I just didn't get it."  Describe why Brady is feeling this way.  And, why do you think J.T. lied to Brady?

Chapter 9

In Chapter 9 Brady goes fishing with his dad in hopes that his dad will talk to him about everything that has happened.  The topic never comes up in the conversation and Brady says he is suffocating.  Why does Brady describe himself as suffocating?

Whoa!  A lot happens in chapter eight.  Explain your reaction to what happened to Brady in this chapter.  Is there anything in your own life that relates to what is happening to Brady?  If so, share your story.

Chapter 7

On pages 46 and 47 the author uses foreshadowing which gives us hints of what might be coming next in the story.  What hints or clues did you notice?  Also, make an inference(prediction of what you think is going to happen).

Chapter 6

Brady is somewhat exhausted from his long day.  He says, it feels like its been a year since I have been home.  He then describes some things in his house that make him feel at home.  What are some things in your house that make you feel at home?  Make sure to use sensory language.

Chapter 5

We've got a pulse!  Brady does some quick thinking when he discovers Ben.  Brady remembers some training he received from the fire station workers.  What does he remember and how does he use it to help Ben?
