Chapter 1
In Chapter One Brady is struggling with something and we don't quite know what it is yet. He is asking himself What if this? What if that? His dad tells him to stop thinking that way and says "You be lookin' backward all the time, Brady, you're gonna have one heck of a crook in the neck." What do you think his dad is trying to tell him? Have you ever been in a similar situation?

DeleteSomething happened to Brady in the past that he keeps thinking about and his dad tells him to stop looking backwards, back at the past. Brady's dad said that he would have a crook in his neck if he kept looking at the past. Brady's dad is trying to tell Brady that he should stop thinking about the past. I have kept looking at the past when I did not get that good of a grade and I thought I could do better.
ReplyDeleteHis dad is trying to tell Brady not to keep thinking about the past. Because Brady is getting mad about the kayak with his friends. But the thing is that only one person can fit in the Red Kayak. And I think Brady is mad because he thinks it probably went in the water. Then they couldn't but it went in the water because all the weight that’s on it. I did when my dad went to store and left for a really long time and I got worried because I was with my grandma and we didn’t have a car to go see.
ReplyDeleteWhat I think Brady's dad is trying to say is that Brady needs to stop thinking about the past because the more you think about the past the worse your life will be. A situation that I have been in that is like Brady's is when I was 9 I always wondered how did my grandpa get to where he is now? when did this happen and where?

Brady is thinking about the past because that mr.D'Angelo's going in the river in the new Red Kayak and to say something so the guy won’t drown or die if he falls in the water he could die in, like, twenty minutes… We got to say something.

Brady’s dad is trying to tell him he cannot change the past. I have been in similar situation as Brady. When, I was a little kid I was trying to go outside with everyone else, but I didn’t see my gramma’s dog. When I opened the door he ran out and got hit by a car. Sometimes I look back and asked myself, ‘’Was it my fault?’’, but I know it is what it is.
ReplyDeleteHis dad tells him to stop looking backward so that means he keeps reminding himself what happened over and over again because he doesn't like what happened with the red kayak I know because he said all see is that red kayak.
ReplyDeleteHe is talking about not looking back on the past otherwise you well not be able to forget it. I can relate to his situation because when I was 4 or 5 I fell off the monkey bars and broke my arm but I keep looking back on it as a bad thing and not as an opportunity. I'm sure we all can relate to looking back on something as a bad thing and not an opportunity.

ReplyDeletehow Brady gonna have a heck of a crook in the neck meaning that he is more in the past then the Future. So they saying that Brady need to focus to the Future and not the past. Yes because sometimes I be getting mad and don’t be carrying about it so I be screaming at people and saying things that I’m not supposed to say. Just like J.T. and Digger.
I think his dad is trying to tell him that needs to stop worrying and thinking about the past because he can’t change what happened. I’ve been in similar situation when I take big tests because I am all stressed out and I wasn’t 100 percent every question was right, and people tell me to stop worrying about it.

ReplyDeleteA similar situation about the past is when I had a tornado at school and I had to run across a glass door to get the safe spot. But my mom was outside when that happened. At least my mom made it inside the school in time and and I was in kindergarten and I was traumatized the rest of the week.

ReplyDelete#1I think that his dad is trying to tell him to stop thinking of something bad and just let it go and think on the bright side and always be happy. #2 No I haven’t been in a situation like this but i have lost like half of I my friends because I moved to Stocking and I haven’t saw them. . J.T. and Digger’s personalities are like mean and bad boy because they said bad words and like to pick on each other and like to fight with each other. Digger is always mad and always wanted to start something. J.T I think he’s kind of nice he’s like a good kid. n Digger is a bully because he likes to always mess with J.T. and Brady.

But i know i know what he means deep down and it's funny
What the dad is trying to tell him is it was not his fault what happened to your friends that day . Stop putting yourself in that position. So stop blaming it on yourself .

ReplyDeleteA similar situation about the past one time I was in the kitchen my granny told me to take the dogs. out and I took me my mom and sister brother dog then I took my granny dog cecko out. he start running and my dog pops start running with cecko I got in trouble from my granny and I was like Is It my fault Is It my fault I thought it was my mom was like it’s not your fault yo granny just a little mad and I was like i think it’s my fault and I just kept thinking about It…

we learned about J.T. and Digger. That sometimes they have good times and sometimes they have bad times. One of their bad time is cussing and screaming at each other. And a good thing is not cussing at each others and not screaming at each other.

Brady’s dad was saying that Brady is worried about something that already happened. I have been in a situation like this when my dog was being mean to my other dogs.

ReplyDeleteBrady helps out on the search by looking through creeks and screaming Ms.DiAngelo and Ben, he’s stopping and looking under water flashing the lights and calling other workers and calling his mom to let her know that he found Ms.DiAngelo.
Brady had 1 miss call then his dad said that they found miss.DiAngelo and he called his mom and said that they found miss.DiAngelo but they didn’t find Ben yet so Brady tried to find Ben but Tilly at a cove Brady slowed down the motor there was tall grass but as soon Brady motored around it Brady found the dock where J.T, Digger, and Brady used to fish and Brady saw a single, bright spot of yellow?

What Brady did is to help find Ben and his Mom is he lets the dog look and call the radio that they found Ben and his Mom .
ReplyDeleteWhat I think is how Brady’s mom ran fast out the school because,if someone dies or something did that’s why Brady’s mom ran out of the school. Or if someone got stuck in the car or something they should help the person that is stuck in the car or something.
ReplyDeleteMy feeling about Brady is that if I was Brady I would of cried because if he knew him that long he should feel sad. Something happen to me like that but it's not about water. It happened to my granny. She died of a heart attack and I felt bad and I cried so much, I couldn’t stop. That’s how I feel like Brady.
